Your Responsibilities

• Independently carry out and oversee film development processes
• Perform scanning and color correction of film scans (workflow, color management)
• Maintain, service and, if necessary, repair technical equipment (e.g. Noritsu V30, Fuji Frontier SP-3000)
• Handle lab chemicals: mixing, monitoring, storage and disposal
• Ensure consistent quality through testing, documentation, and error analysis
• Design, optimize, and standardize lab workflows
• Plan shifts and train new employees, interns, and lab technicians
• Provide mentoring, training, and quality assurance within the team
• Plan maintenance intervals, material needs, and spare parts proactively
• Work cleanly, safely, and methodically in compliance with hygiene and safety standards
• Handle crises and resolve technical issues quickly under time pressure
• When needed: direct client communication and collaboration with film productions and external partners

Your Profile / Qualifications

• Technical education or relevant professional experience in photo labs, film labs, imaging, chemistry, or related fields
• Hands-on experience with analog development processes, film scanning, and color correction
• Experience operating and maintaining lab machinery (e.g. scanners, film processors)
• Genuine interest in working with older machines, technical systems, and lab chemistry
• High attention to quality, precision, and reliability
• Structured, independent, and well-organized working style
• Ability to stay focused and calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills, team spirit, and joy in teaching or guiding others
• German language skills are a strong plus
• Good English skills required
• Ideally, previous experience in film or photo labs or similar technical environments
